Miracle Baby Manushi: Rajasthan’s Tiniest Newborn Defies 1% Survival Odds

Baby Manushi, born in Rajasthan, India, is a true medical miracle, overcoming extreme prematurity and life-threatening complications. Delivered via C-section at just 28 weeks, she weighed a mere 14 ounces—one of the smallest surviving preemies in the world.

Her mother, Seeta, 48, suffered from severe high blood pressure, leading doctors to perform an emergency delivery. Due to placental insufficiency, Manushi wasn’t receiving enough blood, leaving her lungs, brain, heart, and kidneys severely underdeveloped. With less than a 1% chance of survival, she was immediately placed on a ventilator and received vital nutrients directly through her bloodstream.

After six months in the NICU, Manushi defied all odds. She gained strength, began breastfeeding at 7 weeks, and finally left the hospital weighing 5.2 pounds. Doctors hailed her survival as a victory for neonatal care and gender equality, emphasizing the importance of saving and valuing girl children in societies where gender bias persists
