Batman' birthmark is finally removed from girl following groundbreaking procedure

Every child is unique when they are born, but let's face it, some newborns are so exceptional that everyone in the delivery room freezes.

People have been drawn to Luna Tavares-looks Fenner's and "Batman birthmark" since she was born.

There's a reason why she's just started to get a lot of attention once more.

After some cutting-edge, high-tech surgery, Luna was able to get rid of her infamous birthmark. Personally, I believe you won't be able to help but smile when you see this adorable 2-year-old daughter today…Luna Tavares-Fenne, from Florida, is a typical two-year-old. She is a jolly young woman who loves to eat, make people laugh, and run about. Unluckily, Luna was born with congenital melanocytic nevus, a very rare skin condition that undoubtedly triggered an effect on her and her family. As Luna's mother, Carol Fenner gave birth to her little girl in 2019, she was "shocked." She was left speechless and fearful of seeing a gigantic black mark cover up the face of her little girl. Luna was born with a large black mark that resembled a Batman mask and covered most of her face. "I'm used to it now, but then I was just shocked," Carol said. Easy enough to see why Carol might have been shocked. Within days of the parents first having a baby, their initial elation turned into intense worry. She did not know that Luna would be born this way because all tests done during her latest scan prior to giving birth indicated nothing out of the ordinary.

The black dot was not even noticed by doctors until four days after Luna was born. Fenner said that Luna spent her first six days at the hospital undergoing tests. Luna's physicians concluded that the birthmark might pose a serious risk to Luna in the future after doing extensive investigation. The likelihood of developing skin cancer was high, therefore physicians advised a number of procedures. Carol genuinely wanted to take her daughter's "Batman mask" off, but doing so would need at least six surgeries. Another important concern was that each procedure would cost around $40,000.

Mother of Luna, who was in pain, began to search around for help. For the family, it was obviously a difficult moment."We saw many doctors.". To ensure a better outcome, we travelled to Boston, Chicago, and New York," Carol said. With the fear of the possibility of her daughter facing bullying, she tried to ensure that the surgery was completed prior to Luna commencing school. Luna and her family had comments from others that, for reasons unknown, they could not comprehend that she was different even at a very tiny age

Many parents in Carol's situation would remain silent and fade into the shadows, but this brave mother went out to let the world know of Luna's disease. She established an Instagram so that others might see the existence of the family's daily lives. As more people heard Luna's story and spread it to other parts of the world, doctors from across the globe gained knowledge of Luna. One of them was an eminent Russian doctor. Dr. A surgeon and oncologist, Pavel Borisovich Popov, heard about the situation and reached out to Carol with an offer to perform a procedure not offered in the US. However, the so-called photodynamic therapy was expensive, so the family appealed to the public for assistance. A fund raising by Luna's family attracted 70,000 raised from others, who were more than willing to help the girl. "Everybody thinks I'm crazy going out to Russia but after months of research and interviews with doctors who have spent up to decades helping children in conditions like hers," she says with conviction, referring to multiple opinions from several physicians. For a few years, Carol has taken Luna to Russia to get various tests and eventually start therapy sessions. The family managed to come to the Krasnodar clinic despite the pandemic. Interestingly, all the procedures thus far have been without complications. The attending physician, Dr. Pavel Borisovich Popov, is likewise satisfied with the outcome and believes that Luna's chance of developing cancer has immensely diminished.

Luna has already started speaking, and she adds, "My black spot has disappeared. "I am a princess.""We are letting Luna rest from the treatment she has undergone and then we will undertake the aesthetic surgeries. Later we aim to make sure Luna will not have any complexes when she comes to the age where she is concerned about her appearance," the doctor states.

Of course, the fact that things are going well for the family is a relief. Luna has shown to be a strong young girl who has bravely undergone all of her treatments while smiling. Though Lunas's two years have been filled with struggle, she always has a smile for everybody she encounters. It's clear from recent photos of Luna that the results are spectacular. People can be so heartless sometimes, so I really thank God that she could do the treatment

Carol, who is a citizen of America and hails from Brazil, had traveled to spend Christmas there with her family. Luna is going to see some family members in Brazil, regain her strength and get healthy again, then head back to Russia to get further treatments next year. I only want love, health, and happiness for this little princess!
